Flora bun beanie crochet pattern

Each round is closed with a slip stitch in the first dc of that round.
Begin each round with chain3, that’s the first dc of the round.

If you want to make a bun beanie, you chain 32 and close to form a ring.
Then continue with round 3: 1 dc in each stitch around.
After that you follow the rest of the pattern.

Close a chain without twisting it? View my tutorial

Round 1
Crochet a magic ring with 16 dc.
Round  2
2 sec in each st around (32)
Round 3
1 dc in each st around(32)
Round 4
(1 dc in next st – 2 dc in the next st) around (48)
Round 5
(1 dc in next 2 stitches – 2 dc in the next st) around (64)
Round 6
( 1 dc in the next 3 stitches – 2 dc in the next st) around (80)
Round 7
(1 dc in the next 4 stitches – 2 dc in the next st) around (96)

From here on you don’t turn anymore at the end of a round. You keep working with the outside of the beanie facing you.
Each round starts with chain 4, (that’s the first dc and ch1 of the v-stitch), and a dc in the first stitch of the round.
The rounds are closed with a slip stitch in the 3rd loop of the ch 4 you made.

Round 8
(v-stitch in the first stitch, skip the next, popcorn in the next stitch, skip the next stitch) around.

Round 9
Use a slip stitch to go to the chain space of the first v-stitch of the previous round.
(v-stitch in each v-stitch of the previous round,  v-stitch in each popcorn of the previous round) around.

Round 10
Use a slip stitch to go to the chain space of the first v-stitch of the previous round.
(v- stitch in the first v-stitch, popcorn in the next v-stitch) around.

Repeat round 9 and 10 seven times.

Edging
Ch 1, sc in the first stitch.
Chain 4, sl st in the first loop of the chain.
Sc in next stitch.
(sc in next stitch. Chain 4, sl st in the first loop of the chain.

Close the round and fasten off. Weave in the ends.
Your beanie is ready!
