Beautiful violet shades beanie crochet pattern

Materials

  • dk weight yarn
  • crochet hook size 4 mm

Abbreviations U.S.

  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • fpdc = front post double crochet
  • 2dc tog = 2 double crochets together (decrease)

Round 1
Ch 80 and close to form a ring.

Round 2
Ch 2; *hdc in next stitch; repeat from * around and Close with a sl st in the second loop of the ch2.

Round 3
Ch 3; 3 dc in the same stitch as the ch3; skip the next st; fpdc in the next 2 stitches; skip the next st;
* 4 dc in the next st; skip the next st; fpdc in the next 2 st; skip the next st; Repeat from * around. Close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the chr.

Round 4
Use 2 sl st to go to the middle of the 4 dc fan you made in the previous round; ch 3 and 3 dc in the middle of the fan; in the next 2 stitches (these are the fpdc’s you made in the previous round);
*4 dc in the middle of the 4 dc fan you made in the previous round; fpdc in the next 2 stitches;
Repeat from * around and Close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

Round 5-16
Repeat round 4.

Round 17
As round 4, but instead of fans of 4 dc, you make fans of 3 dc. The first fan is made with ch3 and 2 dc.

Round 18
Use a sl st to go to the space between the first and the second dc of the fan of the previous round.
Ch 3; dc in the space between the second and the third dc of the fan; fpdc in the next 2 stitches;
*dc between 1st and 2nd dc of next fan; dc between 2nd and 3rd dc of the fan; fpdc in the next 2 stitches.
Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

Round 19
Ch3; skip next dc; fpdc in the next 2 stitches; *2dctog; fpdc in the next 2 st;
Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

Round 20
Ch3; fpdc in the next 2 stitches; *dc in the next st; fpdc in the next 2 stitches.
Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

Round 21
Ch3; fpdc in the next 2 stitches; *skip the next st; fpdc in the next 2 stitches.
Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

If you want a bun beanie, you can stop here if the hole is large enough. You can also make the hole smaller in the next round(s).

Round 22
Ch 3; *fpdc in the next 6 stitches; 2 fpdc together (that’s the same as 2 dctog, but you make fodc’s instead of dc’s.)
Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

Round 23
Ch3; *fpdc in the next 5 stitches; 2 fpdc tog; Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the 3rd loop of the ch3.

Round 24
Ch3; 2fpdc tog all around. Close the round with a sl stitch.
Close the hole with a sewing needle and weave in the ends.

Edging
Attach with a sl st to a stitch on the bottom of the beanie.
Sc in the stitch where you attached; skip the next st; 5 dc in the next st; skip the next stitch;
*sc in the next st; skip the next st; 5 dc in the next st; skip the next st;
Repeat from * around and close with a sl st in the first sc. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
